We are Outstanding – as rated by the Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated the quality of care provided by Rharian Fields, specialist eating disorder services in North East Lincolnshire as Outstanding.

Rharian Fields, based in Grimsby North East Lincolnshire, is a specialist eating disorder service that provides care and support for individuals aged 17 and over suffering with an eating disorder.

The service has grown from strength to strength since it was first opened in February 2012 as part of NAViGO Health and Social Care Community Interest Company. Now, with nine inpatient beds for men and women alongside the community and day patient services, the team are able to support people from across the country as well as locally; accepting both NHS and privately funded referrals.

The CQC carried out an unannounced inspection in December 2017 and has rated the service as Outstanding overall. The service has been rated as Outstanding for providing services that are caring, effective and well-led, and Good for providing services that are safe and responsive.

Inspectors found ‘there was a truly holistic approach to assessing, planning and proving care and treatment to all patients who used the service’, with ‘staff empowering patients to be effective partners in their care. Patients had an active voice in decisions about their care and individual’s preferences and needs were reflected in the care provided’.

Amanda Simpson, Associate Director of Nursing and Quality said “The staff at Rharian Fields are delighted with the outcome of our recent CQC inspection.

“The outstanding rating reflects the care the whole team looks to provide to our patients. The report highlights a number of strengths in the service we provide and identifies areas for us to develop further.#

“I am proud to be part of a team that works hard to deliver outstanding care and services for our patients. A huge thank you to all our dedicated and companionate staff”.
